So what is an NFT?

Firstly it is an acronym for Non-Fungible Token. But what does that mean? When talking about gaming the easiest way to think about this is that they are the items you would use in a game. So this might be a car, suit of armour, sword etc.

The next important part about nfts is that they are something that you own, independently of the game itself. 

Thirdly nfts are created on different blockchains. This is the same as when you have an iPhone you get apps from the apple app store, if you have a Samsung/Android mobile you get apps from the google play store. 

In saying that there are online market places where you can buy and sell nfts. The majority of nfts are currently on the Ethereum blockchain but there are several other blockchains that have started to support nfts i.e. Cardano and Solana.
